Vice President Joe Biden will attend Sunday’s Oscars ceremony, where he’ll introduce Lady Gaga’s performance of “Til It Happens to You,” EW has confirmed.

The ballad — recorded by Lady Gaga and penned by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Diane Warren — is nominated for Best Original Song, and is featured on the Kirby Dick-directed feature documentary, The Hunting Ground.

Echoing the film’s exploration of sexual assault on U.S. college campuses, Till It Happens to You hits home for Biden, an outspoken advocate against domestic violence and author of the Violence Against Women Act.

And Biden won’t be attending solo: he’ll escort his wife of 39 years, Dr. Jill Biden, as his date to the black-tie event.

As for Lady Gaga, expect her upcoming Oscars performance to top last year’s stunning Sound of Music tribute— especially since her December 2014 reveal that she was raped at 19.

“It was very emotional for her,” Warren recently told PEOPLE of Lady Gaga recording the tune. “She was very emotional doing the song. She put her whole heart and soul into it.”
