Chris Rock brings the wine for a Shondaland Oscars in new promos

As Chris Rock jokes in a new pair of promos, the Oscars is “the only show on ABC Shonda Rhimes doesn’t own,” but she might as well. 

The host of the upcoming ceremony brought out the popcorn and — more importantly — wine. “Hey, Gladiators,” he began, referring to fans of Scandal. Honoring the glasses of wine Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope often consumes on the show, Rock drank his libations from a popcorn bowl.

Rock will host the Oscars on Feb. 28, beginning at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
